SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALL GRADES:

                                                  All logs must be cut from live trees.  Stained, dead and worm
                                                   damaged logs are not acceptable.
                                                  Logs must be delivered within one week of cutting.
                                                   Forked ends and sharp crooks are not acceptable.
                                                   All knots and excessive butt flare must be trimmed close to the log.
                                                   Maximum allowable sweep is 1" per 4' of length but will be deducted
                                                   accordingly.
                                                   Logs with defect volume exceeding half the gross vlume will be culled
                                                   entirely.
                                                  Length of log must be marked on the top end of every log.

CULLS:                                   Any culled logs not returned on the truck will be disposed of after
                                                  one week, if not picked up by the supplier.

NEW GRADE:                        All 16'6" logs and meet Grade 1 specs.

DIAMETER:                           Minimum top - 10.0"; Maximum top - No Limit;  Maximum butt - 40"
LENGTH:                               12' 6", 14' 6" and 16' 6"
MAXIMUM KNOT SIZE:        Up to 1 inch, no knot clusters
MAXIMUM ROT SIZE:          Less than 1/4 diameter of log, deducted accordingly; no pencil rot.
SEAM:                                     Straight seam acceptable, deducted accordingly.
PORCUPINE DAMAGE:      Not acceptable.

LENGTH:                               10'6", 12' 6", 14' 6" and 16' 6"
MAXIMUM KNOT SIZE:        Red knots up to 3 inches; black knots up to 2 inches; no knot clusters
MAXIMUM ROT SIZE:          Less than 1/4 diameter of log, deducted accordingly; no pencil rot.
SEAM:                                     Straight seam acceptable, deducted accordingly.
PORCUPINE DAMAGE:      Acceptable on one face; deducted accordingly.

MAXIMUM KNOT SIZE:       Red knots over 3 inches; black knots over 2 inches; cluster knots
                                                  on not more than 2 faces.  Excessively knottly logs will be rejected.
MAXIMUM ROT SIZE:         Less than 1/3 diameter of log, deducted accordingly.
SEAM:                                    Must not affect more than 2 faces, deductions made.
PORCUPINE DAMAGE:     Must not affect more than 2 faces; deducted accordingly.
